Photobox Gives Everyone the Online Tools to Earn Money and Create Their Own Greeting Card Designs

Budding designers can earn cash from their bedrooms

October 27th 2008

Photobox, the UK and Europe’s number one online community for photo printing and personal publishing, today gives every budding designer the online tools to create and sell greeting cards online. The company has developed a unique consumer-to-consumer proposition (C2C) on its Greetings by PhotoBox sister site. This means creative people, photographers, charities, clubs and schools can create and sell their own greeting card creations via their own online greeting card gallery page, earning a handy royalty themselves, or for their own good cause, with each card sold.

Greetings by Photobox has become a hub for peoples’ creativity, a place of self expression and is now a way to generate a supplementary income; giving everyone the chance to run their own money making greeting card operation, for free.

The easy to use card creation studio is ideal for bedroom designers, allowing them to upload artwork and then add a caption via a text box with fixed or editable content. Sellers will also be able to log in to a secure admin area to manage their artwork and track sales and revenue.

Creativity isn’t limited to just designers, and now anyone can create and order their own bespoke card by uploading an image for the front and personalising the inside and the back of the card with the easy to use card studio. With Christmas just around the corner now is the perfect time to create your own bespoke cards, in bulk or to send them directly to friends from the website avoiding that last minute dash to the post box.

Anyone browsing the website can find cards in popular seasonal categories, or search the 1000s of designs by featured artists, keywords or by their own favorite artist. Shoppers on the site can also select a charity for each card they buy and Photobox will donate a percentage of the card price to the customer’s chosen good cause.

Commenting on the new functionality, Mark Chapman, Photobox managing director, said: “If you are a budding designer or artist who wants to show off your work, Photobox gives you the tools so you can be financially rewarded for your creativity. You never know, you might create an all time favourite and never have to work again! Why would anyone want to buy an off the shelf card this Christmas when you could make a completely personalised card in minutes online?”

The site also highlights featured designers who can upload their latest card collections any time they want. Young Designer of the Year nominee Soula Zavacopoulos, from www.theLondonStudio.com is one such entrepreneur: “What Greetings by Photobox has done with its new proposition is great, because it means anyone can let their creative juices flow and earn a few extra quid in the process!” Each seller will have a profile page on the website, showcasing their card range, plus a few facts about them, website URL and contact details. All designs can be searched for by keywords and by designer so that there is the best chance your creation will find a buyer.”
