Europe’s leader in photo printing and personal publishing appoints Commercial Director to head up UK arm

Lawrence Merritt has been appointed MD at award winning e-commerce company PhotoBox following a hugely successful three years heading up the UK’s marketing operation as Commercial Director.

Merritt joined PhotoBox in 2007 following the successful merger of the UK business with its French counterpart, Photoways Group in 2006, forming Europe’s leading online photo service.

Merritt’s passion and strategic results driven approach combined with 18 years experience of online marketing and commercial business development are the driving force behind the organisation’s trading success. His approach has propelled business growth delivering 40% market share, seeing member figures double to four million.

Dedicated to the dynamic, fast paced online sector, Merritt first started his career with eight years at ZDNET & Ziff-Davis, rising to Ad Director before moving to become part of the launch team for Expedia in Europe. He then moved on to Yahoo! working across key areas of the business, from heading up the European SEM team to being appointed European Director of Central Marketing.

Merritt commented on his appointment: “PhotoBox is a pioneer within the online photo service industry, achieving far reaching success over the last decade. I look forward to continuing this legacy as we continue to expand and lead the way with our trademark quality products and award winning customer service. Our intent is simple; we will place a Photo Book in every home, on every coffee table in Britain.”
